I hope you lose to Felicity Huffman

Here's why:

"They said, 'No matter what you do in life, don't ever sing.'"

--Reese Witherspoon in Star, quoting her parents' childhood advice. If the Walk the Line star had listened, she'd never have scored an Oscar nom for playing country legend June Carter. So, kids, here's an important lesson: Ignore your parents

We get it! Now get out of my face!

I agree.
Yes, you are an accomplished actress. Yes, you pick great roles (most of the time). Yes, you are a role model for how NOT to blow it out as a Hollywood starlet. Yes, you are mommy of the year to those two brats Ava and Deacon. BUT... I'm usually underwhelmed by you, Reese, I have to admit. You kind of have the Neve Campbell or Jennifer Aniston thing going on where you are always just going to be you in whatever role you have. I'm not hating, just speaking mah truth...

She WAS great in 'Walk the Line,' but no better than she was in 'Election' and 'Man in the Moon,' for that matter. I agree with Shelby. Sometimes it seems as if Reese has been playing herself since 'Cruel Intentions,' and I can't tell if that's her genius or some sort of unspoken weakness.

Oh, well. I'm sure she'll win the Oscar, because Oscar has been alllllz about the young, nubile young actresses in this category for the past decade or so. I'm also miffed because it's not like the majority of her competition is that strong. Where the hell are Joan Allen for 'The Upside of Anger' and Naomi Watts for 'King Kong'? And what of Felicity? She's nothing short of a JUMP in 'Transamerica,' but I don't know if she can pull an S. Epatha and win her bajillionth award in six months come March 5. Guess we'll see...

I feel like I've just been conditioned to like Reese, because she has turned out a few good performances. But for the most part, I find her boring. I never really get excited for "the new Reese Witherspoon". I guess what I'm trying to say is: Reese, I have mixed feelings about you.
