When you're in need of a "life lift"

Now, we've had a quick reference to Kathie Lee since the beginning of this blog, but I felt it was imperative to take it a step further. Ms. Kathie Lee Gifford is a true American Hero. Now, if you're like me, you remember the good ol' days of "Live with Regis and Kathie Lee" fondly. You remember that wonderfully awful annoying cackel Kathie did every two seconds, you remember the awesome, painful passive aggressive comments Reege would make because you know he hated her so freakin' much. More importantly, you remember the following:
1. How excited you were when Claudia Cohen would come on for celebrity gossip. (you don't GYIT "insiders" like that anymore)
2. When Cody was born
3. When Cassidy was born
4. When Kathie Lee said Marla Maples was staying with her after separting from Donald Trump (YES - God, we'll ne'er get those days back!)
5. When Kathie gave the infamous "How DARE you" speech after her sweatshop jumpoff

I've been very excited lately to see a bit of a reemergence of Kathie. Did any of you catch her interviewing Dolly Parton on The Insider?? It was totally gay Christmas. We LOVE YOU KATHIE, WE WANT YOU TO LYIVV!

Here, here, Shelby. Kathie Lee Epstein-Johnson-Gifford is, without a doubt, one of God's true gifts to our pop culture landscape. I spent the summer of 1990 glued to my TV set during her infamous 'Vote For Me As TV Guide's Sexiest Woman!' campaign--a shrill and outrageous ego trip that really cemented her status in my heart.

I've been with KLG through it all--the kids, the holiday parades, the sweatshop scandal, the Christmas album, the obvious facelift, the silly 'Insider' bits...I even know that her two dogs are named Chardonnay and Chablis (um, AMAZING!).

You GO, KGL! You are a self-absorbed diva of the highest order and I LOVE it!

You forgot that she is also the proud writer of a heinous off-off-off-broadway (enough is enough, I get the joke) musical... good times!
